Positive Areas |
Graham, you came to the match well attired and honest about being nervous and ready to ref. (Mental preparation is as important as looking properly equipped).
You made a solid consistent effort on a wet, cold day to Keep Up with play and working to have good position. It is tough to manage sideline calls and maintain a broader vision of play. You did well.
Graham you adapted well to managing substitutions, slow recognition first few and then you checked constantly. Your stopping and starting the process for resuming play was effective as players responded appropriately to your control. |
Areas for Development |
Graham you blew your whistle at appropriate times but you need to be stronger, louder when using it.
Also, as we discussed post game, it is important to recognize legal contact and contact that goes beyond fair and acceptable. You did question some of the contact but did not whistle the fouls. Trust yourself and make the call. It is important to do so and will aide your control of the match.
Enjoyed watching you ref a good match and hope you will continue to work on staying focused and understanding the game. Good Luck!! |

Hi All -
Enjoyed watching and supporting Graham at the match yesterday. Appreciate the effort to help young officials work and work with positive present support. I was not sure how the game would go and wondered initially if his quietness was nerves or personality or both. I do feel standing at midfield and making contact at times and giving the thumbs up to Graham, allowed him help with staying focused and positive mentally. Thanks! |
